The Day Furry Spoke To Me
Have you ever looked into the face of your dog and wondered what she was trying to say to you? If she could speak, would you be right or wrong about what you thought this was?
Furry is a shelter rescue who lives in an apartment in town with a little boy. One day, when his mother is conveniently out for the day at work, Furry is mysteriously given the ability to say exactly what is on her mind. Follow Furry and her beloved boy around town as Furry expresses herself in her little, growly voice on the subjects of leashes, hot dogs, other dogs and bird-eating cats, all the while marking everywhere imaginable as her personal territory.
And how does she feel about the very idea that her beloved boy would even think of petting another dog?
While the story itself is fiction, the illustrations are detailed and were sourced with real models and actual locations. The visual world of Third Street really existed...in various pieces, somewhere or another...and its animal inhabitants are rendered in graphite with their real-life personalities completely intact.
Furry herself was modeled by the author's own dog Maggie, who has a cameo appearance in a photograph on one page.
Color cover. 27 Black-and-white pages of pictures and story inside (not counting the title and copyright). Reading level: More or less, ages 6 to 12.
ORDERING INFORMATION: Send $15 payment through PayPal to [email protected]. Shipping is included.
